1 round at Alicante golf course

Alicante Golf is a Seve designed course, opened in 1997 his Signature hole is the 9th a par 5 which has an S shaped pond left of the green, apparently all courses designed by Seve has an S somewhere on them. The Spanish National Finals have been held here for 3 years and the course record of 62 is presently held by Jose Rivero. I would recommend the use of buggies on this course as there are some long walks from greens to tees but its always in great condition and at 6,900 yds long with a lot of water a good test of golf, its one of my favorite courses in the area as it has 6 par 3s, 6 par 4s and 6 par 5s which seems to suit my game, I hope it does yours.

1 round at Altea golf course

Altea is one of the most picturesque golf courses on the Costa Blanca set in the shadows of the Sierra Bernia mountain range and opened in 1974 its also one of the oldest. Although its a 9 hole course and now owned by the members visitors are welcome, recently they have redesigned the tee positions creating two different nines which make the course much more interesting and long at 6,671 yards. One of the toughest holes on the course is the 5th a 630 yard par 5 it used to be the longest par 5 in Europe, for me its a driver then a 3 wood to the corner and if i am lucky a 5 iron to a bunker guarded green.

1 round at Bonalba golf course

Bonalba was opened in 1997, an 18 hole par 72 but a standard scratch 73 makes it a good test of golf and always a pleasure to play, I became a member of the course in 1998 and really enjoyed my time there. A parkland course with 5 lakes and 7,100 yds of the back tees makes this course well worth playing. They have a hacienda style club house with a good restaurant and bar, after round tapas is well worthwhile.

1 round at El Plantio golf course

El Plantio for me is always a pleasure to play, well designed, well kept and a good test of golf this par 72 is just over 7,000 yards long. The best hole on the course for me is the 17th a long par 4, if you hit a good drive your second shot is into a 2/3 island green, not easy. They have recently opened a very stylish new club house with great facilities.

1 round at villaitana golf course

Villaitanas courses are a welcome new addition to this area, Designed by Jack Nicklaus and his son there is a par 62 and a 72. The par 72 is long at 7,200 yards but with wide undulating fairways big greens and lots of bunkers and a little water to keep it interesting, its a pleasure to play. The par 62 is short and quite hilly, its very popular with beginners as its only 4,200 yards long.
